About Me

Hi there and thanks for stopping in!

I’m Kate and I have been passionate about design for as long as I can recall – as a child I’d be found pouring over decor magazines, house plans, and dancing through the gardens of historic properties.  All of which, I still enjoy to this very day.  It is no surprise that I went on to study interior design and have spent the last 15 years in various facets of the industry.

Along the way, I began to realize that the spaces on the glossy pages of the magazines and catalogs are there to ignite our own inspiration and should not be our ultimate goal for living.  We need to take these visions and mold them to our own liking, aspiring to make them our own.  It is far more important to be surrounded by what we genuinely love and to be inspired everyday by our personal surroundings than living in someone else ideal.

Not too long ago, I found myself in a creative rut, although it took some time to come to this realization.  I had become so caught up in the day-to-day and other people’s creative visions that I was skipping my favorite creative outlets of cooking, gardening, and playing piano.  I find such gratification in an artfully made, delicious smelling coq au vin.  As long as you don’t to ask me to taste – I’m pescatarian so it’s not quite as high on my list of favorite foods.  All of this brings me here to curating eden, a little nook where I can reveal a mindful, authentic vision of home and living.  This blog intends to highlight, the things in our homes and our surroundings that will help enliven and motivate our spirit to live our lives with motivation and intention.

These days I can primarily be found in in Upstate New York, but I have lived in Southern California and frequently travel to the West Coast of Ireland.  There is something about the sand, salt and the waves that I find invigorating and refreshing.

I would be delighted for you to join me on this journey.  Let’s go explore our surroundings and see what we can find.  Come back soon and visit again.

Until next time, Kate
